The transaction enables Dolomiti Energia to acquire an authorised project for the construction of a photovoltaic plant in Montecchio Emilia (RE). The plant is expected to become operational between the end of 2027 and the beginning of 2028.

Trento, 27 July 2026 – Dolomiti Energia has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in NB7 S.r.l. from Development Italy S.r.l., a company of the German Steag Iqony Group, marking a further step in the growth of its renewable energy generation capacity.

The transaction is part of the path outlined in Dolomiti Energia’s 2030 Strategic Plan, which in recent years has accelerated the development of new plants and completed major transactions to increase installed wind and photovoltaic capacity.

The company acquired by Dolomiti Energia holds the authorisation to build a photovoltaic plant with an authorised capacity of almost 20 MWp in the Municipality of Montecchio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia. The project will be developed on an area previously used for quarrying activities, thereby redeveloping and enhancing a site that has already been used for human activities and helping to limit the consumption of new land.

Once completed, the Montecchio Emilia plant will become one of Dolomiti Energia’s most important photovoltaic assets. Dolomiti Energia will manage the construction internally, drawing on the expertise developed in recent years in the design, construction and management of photovoltaic plants.

The project benefits from the incentive tariff provided for under the FER 1 Decree for a period of 20 years from the date it becomes operational, ensuring revenue stability and contributing to the economic sustainability of the investment. Work is expected to begin in the coming months, with completion scheduled between the end of 2027 and the beginning of 2028.

“With this acquisition, we are adding a project of significant strategic value to our portfolio, which is set to become one of the most important photovoltaic plants operated by our Group,” said Stefano Granella, CEO of Dolomiti Energia. “This investment confirms our commitment to growing in renewable energy with a long-term industrial vision, enhancing sites that have already been used in the past and leveraging expertise that now enables us to manage all stages of development internally. In this way, we continue to strengthen our contribution to the country’s energy transition, increasing renewable energy generation and supporting decarbonisation targets.”
